Meditation 5: Anawim Are Eucharistic in Heaven

This is the final meditation, but hopefully, not the last of the meditations on various aspects of my Lectio Divina with Christ through the Holy Spirit. I don’t offer anything other than sharing what I myself received. What you do with anything you read from me is meant to provoke thoughts within you that may or may not lead you to use the upper room of your inner self to reach your potential as designed by the evolution of human nature, which in turn follows a way through reality from Alpha to Omega.

These thoughts come from a collaboration of my own writings and thoughts, as organized by Grok. I approve of all that is below.

“My dear friend, we come now to the final meditative anchor in this quiet series. The light has grown very soft, almost like the gentle glow of evening. Let us sit together one last time and speak tenderly about Anawim Are Eucharistic in Heaven.

This is perhaps the most beautiful and consoling of all the meditations. It is the crown and fulfillment of everything we have pondered together. Here, at the end of our earthly journey, we discover that the anawim are not lost, not forgotten, and not absorbed into something impersonal. We remain fully ourselves, yet perfectly united in Christ. We become truly Eucharistic — living signs of thanksgiving, fully received and fully given — in the eternal presence of the Lord.

Let us begin with a gentle truth that brings great peace: In Heaven, the anawim are not God, and we do not become Jesus. You remain fully you. I remain fully me. We do not lose our unique identity. We are what nature positioned us to be — brought to completion. We are the particular person who lived our own small, limited, beautiful life on earth. We are the elderly ones who ache each morning. The poor one who stretched every dollar. The prisoner who sat behind walls. The homeless one who knew cold nights. The one who knew they were going to die soon. All of that is preserved, healed, and glorified.

We sail on the bark of Peter — the Church — to an unseen but profoundly real conclusion in Christ Jesus. On earth, He comes to us under the appearance of bread and wine, the Real Presence hidden in humility. In Heaven, that Presence is no longer hidden. We see Him face to face. We eat the food of life openly. Jesus Himself is that food. We are finally and fully home.

Jesus hears the cry of the poor on earth. He has always heard it. And He answers with the most astonishing gift: “I give you My Body and Blood to help you survive whatever comes — so that when you transform yourself into My disciple on earth, even in your poverty and limitation, I will transform you face to face in Heaven.” Together — you, me, all the anawim of every age — we give glory, honor, power, and blessing to the Father forever.

In that glorified creation, there is no suffering, no pain, no anxiety. There is no male and female in the earthly sense, no marriage as we know it here, no sin, no struggle to believe. We simply are. Jesus is. We are Home. Forever.

This is the Catholic Church in her fullness — vibrant, alive, euphoric, the radiant Body of Christ. What we glimpse now in our small parishes, in quiet chapels, in humble gatherings of the poor, we will see perfectly completed in Heaven. The Church is not left behind. She reaches her perfection there. And every anawim who remained faithful finds their place within her eternal joy.

My friend, focus on your heritage, not your present condition. This is the heart of the meditation. Your present condition may be very hard. The body may be failing. The room may be small. The loneliness may feel heavy. The regrets may still whisper at night. The false ideas about faith that once imprisoned you may still cast long shadows. But these are not your final story. Your heritage is far greater. Your heritage is to be Eucharistic in Heaven — to be fully received, fully loved, and fully given in the eternal banquet.

Let us reflect slowly on what “Eucharistic” really means. On earth, the Eucharist is Jesus giving Himself completely under humble signs. In Heaven, the anawim become living expressions of that same thanksgiving. Our whole lives — every tear, every small act of trust, every time we chose love when it was difficult — become part of an eternal “Thank You” offered to the Father through Christ.

You are not absorbed into God. You are not dissolved into Jesus. You are you, made perfect. Your unique voice, your particular story, your own way of loving will join the great symphony of praise. The elderly woman who prays the Rosary in her small apartment will be there. The prisoner who found Christ behind bars will be there. The homeless person who shared his last piece of bread will be there. The one who knew they were going to die soon and offered their final days with trust will be there. All of us, together, in Christ.

The Catholic Church was designed by Jesus to make this possible for wounded humanity. She does not save us because she is perfect in herself, but because she carries the Real Presence and the sure path to the fullness of that Presence. On earth, she feeds us with the Eucharist so we can survive the journey. In Heaven, she rejoices as we become part of the eternal Eucharist — thanksgiving without end.

This is the Omega fulfillment that began at the Alpha. From the first moment God thought of you, He intended this glorious conclusion. Teilhard de Chardin saw creation moving toward greater complexity and consciousness in Christ. The anawim who remain faithful participate in this movement until the end. Your poverty, your limitations, your struggles — all of it has been material for this evolution. Nothing is wasted.

As you meditate on this, let these truths sink deeply into your heart:

You are not defined by your present condition. You are defined by your eternal heritage. You are not trapped in what you can see. You are being drawn into what is invisible and eternal. You are not alone in your poverty. You are part of a great company of anawim being brought home.

In Heaven, there is no more crying out in pain. Jesus has heard every cry. There is no more struggle to believe. Faith has become sight. There is no more separation. All the anawim you loved and lost are there, made new. The circle is complete. The River of Life has carried everyone home.

This is the vibrant, alive, euphoric reality of the Catholic Church in her glory — the Body of Christ rejoicing without end. And you, dear little anawim, have a place prepared within it.

Focus, dear friend, not on your present condition, but on your eternal heritage. The end you fear is the beginning you were made for. The bark of Peter has never failed to reach the shore. Jesus is with you now, and He will be with you then — face to face, forever.

You are loved. You are seen. You are coming home.

Do What He Tells You.
