DIGGING FOR HEAVENLY GOLD: THE PRESENCE OF ENERGY IN THREE UNIVERSES AND ITS IMPLICATIONS FOR MY CATHOLIC CHURCH.
Just when I think I have done something good with my human reasoning by constantly digging ever deeper and deeper into the three constants in my previous blog, I had another one of those moments, when I place myself in the presence of Christ (Contemplation), then waited for the Holy Spirit to enlighten me, according to my capacity to receive the energy from divine nature. I have not even come close to penetrating the depths of my own humanity, much less trying to discover who God is. I use the four constants in my prayers now, because I am more aware of them, not that I am always held hostage to thinking about them fanatically.
- ENERGY IN THREE UNIVERSES
- LOVE IN THREE UNIVERSES
- MOVEMENT IN THREE UNIVERSES
- TRUTH IN THREE UNIVERSES
ENERGY IN THREE UNIVERSES
In particular, this first constant, Energy, which I describe, is the power to create and move from complexity and consciousness towards fulfillment of my human nature. I talk about energy in three universes: physical, mental, and spiritual, and that these three universes are one. My latest foray into the Mystery of my Humanity, as provided to me by the divine nature, is that not only does energy exist for its own sake, but it must also produce a product, as do the other constants of Love and Movement.
The implications of this deeper penetration of the Mystery of Faith into the energy of all three universes of one reality are what I share with you, because that, in itself, is a product that requires using it for more than just my own imperfection. This blog is the product of my interactions with the Master through the Holy Spirit, and I offer it to you because whatever overshadows me with spiritual energy, I am required to share.
To use a somewhat crude example of the product that comes from a human, being in the presence of pure energy, and yet not being consumed by its sheer power, I use our Sun and how it shines its warmth on me by being what it is and using the laws of nature and science as we know them, to give a product of life to all those on earth (all living things). The Sun is just far enough away but close enough for life to survive and thrive. In the same way, when I go to that upper room of my inner self and consciously place myself in the presence of Christ (both Divine and Human), I receive the warmth that comes from being in the presence of that Divine Nature.
Through, with, and I Christ, I am just close enough but far enough away from the Godhead to survive. The product of this interaction is faith, love, and a realization of the truth that transcends all telling, and I am called to share it with others as Christ shared it with me (and you). In all things, I wish to share with others, not just talk at them, about my experiences with Christ through the Catholic Church, and much more. If I always begin lifting up my mind and heart to God with the invocation, “In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit,” then I always close my daily existence with the words of the Blessed Mother, “Do what He tells you.” The Holy Spirit then whispers in my ear that that would be. He speaks to you in the same way, if you but “listen with the ear of the heart,” to the silence God is when you wait for the Lord as a sentinel before the Blessed Sacrament, or when receiving the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
I learned at an early age to recite the purpose of life from my Catholic Catechism (Baltimore Catechism, Question Six) at an early age (Eighth Grade), but it was a muffled thump of the Holy Spirit in my throat. I recall receiving a fleeting whisper in my mind, or from somewhere, “in or out of the body, I know not which,” which gave me the confidence that I still possess to this day. That God takes care of the poor in spirit, and I was and am certainly that. Here is what Father Doll, our Assistant Pastor at St. Francis Xavier Church in Vincennes, Indiana, said to us on that hot Hoosier day in September 1952.
“The purpose of life is to know, to love, and to serve God in this world, and to be happy with God in the next.”
I bring this up in the context of the product of energy with these observations.
- Energy not only helps me to be (exist) but to move to a level of evolution in which I can throw off the effects of original sin while on earth, so that I can have some semblance of how to live forever in the life to come.
- The energy from the Godhead is the interaction or product of three separate persons who are all pure energy, or using 100% of both capacity and capability of their Nature. No waste. No energy as we know it, as it expresses itself in the physical universe. I have no idea what that means, except that it is the product of love in the Divine Nature as observed in Human Nature. The act of Marriage is sharing with each other to produce life (all things being equal).
- This Divine Energy is unknowable to humans for several reasons. First, even if I could understand what made it up, my mind could not comprehend the sheer transformation of pure knowledge, pure love, and pure truth. I would need to be divine to even approach pure energy.
- Secondly, I only know about the spiritual universe because Jesus became human to teach all humans how to make that transition to the deepest level of their human existence. As an adopted son of the Father, through the power of Christ and the divine nature of the Holy Spirit, I begin to know how to harness the power that allows my nature to fulfill its evolutionary purpose.
- Yet, when I look deeper into this energy, certain parallels come to my mind. The process of being God (and remember, all of this is probably more limited than real) has something to do with not containing its energy in a never-ending loop for its own fulfillment.
- At the essence of what I think about when looking at pure energy is that this ultimate power in the universe, self-contained, having resonance without the need of any other assistance, produces the product of availability to any reality outside of Divine Nature. Read what Philippians 2:5-12 has to say about this deeper purpose of pure energy. I am literally not only made from star stuff, as the astrophysists say, but am also in harmony with the resonance of having that energy of a Divine Nature accessible to me as I can sustain it right now. (capacitas dei)
“Plea for Unity and Humility.*
1 If there is any encouragement in Christ, any solace in love, any participation in the Spirit, any compassion and mercy,
2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, with the same love, united in heart, thinking one thing.a
3 Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves,b
4 each looking out not for his own interests, but [also] everyone for those of others.c
5Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus,*
6 Who,* though he was in the form of God,d
did not regard equality with God something to be grasped.*
7 Rather, he emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
coming in human likeness;*
and found human in appearance,e
8 he humbled himself,f
becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross.*
9 Because of this, God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name*
that is above every name,g
10 that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,*
of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth,h
11 and every tongue confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord,*
to the glory of God the Father.i“

Another dimension of energy in three universes is that my race (you and I) is in harmony with the Divine Nature, in that we can choose good or evil without retaliation from those who disagree. Humans can never exist within the Godhead, heaven notwithstanding. Heaven is a place outside of the presence within the Divine Nature itself. Jesus went to prepare a place for those who love Him, which is at the culmination of the evolution of our collective consciousness, one where we can use those experiences of knowledge, love, and our discovery of what is good or evil in accordance with the characteristics of our human nature. Divine Nature and its energy enable humans (especially the individual) to enjoy the afterlife with those familiar treasures (God’s treasures) that we collected during our lifetime of trying to have in us the mind of Christ Jesus.
- The energy is one nature, but three distinct persons, and their interaction produces all that is, or was, or will be. God created the choirs of angels not because the Divine Nature’s energy depended on creation as a product for its existence, but the pure energy of God creates more than it takes to be Divine, much like nuclear fusion produces more energy than it consumes.
- This product of the interaction of pure knowledge (Father), pure love (Son), that leads to pure Truth (Holy Spirit), is the template for all the cosmos, of all that is living (animality and rationality). That leads to the way, the truth, and a life, and is the only way evolution can gain access to the energy needed to reach that deepest level of my humanity, knowledge that leads to love that produces a product that you and I must share with others, as God has shared with each of us.
- The image and likeness of God, which is our DNA, means we are servants of our good works. They don’t exist in and for our personal gratification to make us more powerful or rich. Humans, if we are to reach that deepest level of our humanity, means we must share with others. The Seven Deadly Sins, the effects from that one NO from Adam and Eve, to the invitation of the Father to become adopted sons or daughters with our inheritance, the Garden of Eden (a place that Jesus went to prepare for us), are the obstacles or trials that I must constantly contend with while living on earth. I don’t have the type of energy in the physical or mental universes that helps me confront this dimension of my humanity, one tainted by my humanity’s dissonance from what should have taken place in the Garden of Eden. The only energy that allows me to sustain my struggles comes from Christ (Eucharist and Forgiveness of Sins) and the energy of the Holy Spirit. All I have to do is be aware of what is going on and continuously place myself next to Christ to soak up those three longings of my hungry heart: knowledge, love, and truth.
- When Jesus speaks of us placing our good works on a stand for all to see, He did not mean bragging about how good you are, or how great your works are, but being of service to others and allowing them to see God in you and give glory to the Father for allowing us to be His Followers. All of us are poor servants of the Lord Jesus. Energy in the spiritual universe does not come from human intelligence or physical energy, but rather from a source outside of human control. Energy of the spiritual universe comes from the Divine Nature but is translated by the Holy Spirit into something that I can use to fuel My Catholic Church and keep me sustained. All I have to do is want it and do it.
- Lectio Divina is that Cistercian approach to placing myself in the presence of Christ and waiting for whatever comes, then, and this is important, “Do what He tells you,” as the Blessed Mother told us. In my being in the presence of Christ and soaking up the energy of God, as I can absorb it (capacitas dei) by merely waiting in anticipation for whatever Christ wants to share, it is the product of the interaction of Jesus (God and Human) and me (Human) with no strings attached.
- The energy of the human mind (reason and the ability to choose good or evil) cannot exist without the energy of the physical universe, that combination of gases and gravity that moves from complexity and consciousness forward toward its destiny. Both the energy in the physical universe, which is not the same energy as human consciousness, but also with the mental accumulation of experiences that I use to enable me to jump from humanity to spirituality, complete the three dimensions of energy in which I discover myself.
- With this energy of the physical universe, knowing it with the mental universe, and using both those universes to enable me to choose a reality outside of my human nature yet consistent with it, I say to the Father through Christ with the power of the Holy Spirit, “Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever. The God who was, who is, and who will be at the end of the ages.” (Cistercian doxology)
- Everything in the universe, with its three dimensions of energy, exists for me to be able to get to heaven in heaven by starting to pack for the trip while I am here on earth. The Father knows what I need to be able to move to that deepest level of my humanity, which will prepare me to live in a foreign place, but with the treasures I brought with me while I was on earth, so that I have a familiar frame of reference. The Son became human to tell us and show us the way to love what is the life of adoption. The Holy Spirit, our Second Advocate, stays with the embodiment of Christ through each age and gerations so that today, this very day, I can choose to place myself in the presence of Divinity and soak up that energy that the Father has deemed necessary for me to use to reach the tulttimate purpose of my humanity, to know, to love, and to serve God in this lifetime, so that I can be happy in the next life.
Prayer, in all its forms, is anytime I choose to place myself in the presence of Christ and wait for the Blessed Mother to tell me, through the whispers of her Son, “Do what he tells you.”
